methodology
Listen
Student listens and absorbs as the teacher explains lesson. |
Write
Assignments and worksheets help students by reinforcing what they learnt. Assignments and worksheets are given to students to complete during class time and as homework. |
Present
Students are asked to present what they have learnt and how the lesson is applicable to them. Through presentation, students develop confidence and demonstrate that they are able to apply what they have learnt. |
Feedback
Students are encouraged to ask questions after the teacher's explanation. Students are then encouraged to describe the concepts that were just taught in their own words and to highlight areas which require additional explanation by the teacher. This allows the teacher to gauge the extent to which the student has understood the topic. |
Parental Involvement
It is crucial for parents to demonstrate an interest in and support their child’s academic studies. Parents should monitor their children’s course assignments closely, preferably on a daily basis, to ensure that the students complete their course assignments on time. Each student will be issued a file and a time table to facilitate monitoring by the parents and our centre. We would like parents to sign off on the time table and assignment sheets when their child has completed them and for parents to ensure that all course assignments are completed before the following lesson to ensure that their child will be able to keep up with the course lessons.
We provide students and parents with a topic schedule do that parents can follow their children’s progress and monitor their work.

Reading Program (for English and mother tongue classes only)
We encourage our students to read regularly and widely. Exposure to a variety of genres and writing styles will improve their vocabulary and grammar as well as enhance their language skills and general knowledge. A weekly topic will be assigned to the students to encourage them to read on a particular topic. Our centre will provide access to reading materials which may include newspaper and magazine articles and excerpts from literature classics. Students in the more advanced classes will also be required from time to time to summarize the reading materials they have read and to answer comprehension questions.

As a student your job is to study and enjoy studying. You will be more likely to do well if you enjoy your studies.
